The Story

Before J2HD was fully formed, Chris Burk took on this spec build in Vaughn, WA — a personal project with a clear goal: build a home that sells, and give a family a real place to start. Not a full custom showpiece, but a larger, smarter starter home that punches above its class. At 2,737 square feet with four bedrooms, two and a half baths, and a dedicated office, it hits the sweet spot — big enough to grow into, priced to actually be attainable, with an office answering the work-from-home demand that isn't going anywhere. When you're building to sell, every decision runs through one filter: does this add value a buyer will pay for? That's how it got built — clean craftsman lines, a floor plan that flows, and selections that maximize salability without cheaping out where it counts. Ground broke in 2022 and the home was finished in 2023. A build from the early days that helped lay the groundwork for the J2HD approach — attainable, marketable, and built to move.
